Books on VB.NET

I looked at VB.NET for the first time last night ... shock ... horror!!!
Can anyone recommend any good books on it??

What is your general level of ability with programming, and specifically what is your experience with VB? If you want a decent introduction book that assumes low general programming skill, MS Press' Visual Basic .NET Step By Step isn't bad. If you want a much more technical book that covers a wide variety of subjects, Programming Visual Basic .NET by Francesco Balena is a meaty, heavy reference. I'm sure many people also have opinions. Give an idea of what you're looking for.

If you already know VB 5 or 6 then then the best I've found to start with is 'The Book of VB.NET - Net insight for VB developers' by Matthew MacDonald.
It's my bible and sits beside my computer all the time. I've been programming in VB since '92 and found the jump to VB.NET 12 months ago a bit of a challenge. This book is great.
I also have others such as Baleno's Microsoft Reference and Karl Moores's but I use them as references.
I have often emailed Matthew with queries and I always have an overnight response.

I have to second, Programming Visual Basic .NET by Francesco Balena. Its a great reference book, but if you want tutorial type reading then there are probably better out there.

If you are new to programmng or just want one that covers the basics the best one I know of is "Programming in Visual Basic.Net" by Julia Case Bradley , Anita C. Millspaugh, there is also a second book in the same series that takes you a little deeper into the language. (after you go through the 1st one.)
