    Re-writable CDs

    Is there any limitation in the number of times a rewritable CD can be rewritten?

    I remember hearing it's supposed to be 1000 - but I think that's per bit/byte, so if you are only using a small percentage of the disk then the number of times will go up a bit.

    I have heard 1000 too, but I guess that no one knows for sure, and if they do I guess it depends on the qualety of the disc. And BTW Geek, you are always using the inner sectors first of the CD, so I guess that the limitation will still be the same...

    true, although depending on the software you use - some will scan the disk before writing, so if an area is unsafe to use then the next part of the disk will be used.
