I don't know much about memory, except that I forget things often. And that's not even the right kind of memory.

Look in the manual for your motherboard. If you're too lazy to do that go here. On the left under 'Memory upgrades' select the make of your motherboard and go on from there.

What processor have you?

here are some generalizations...yes...generalizations

P2 + below = PC66/100
P3/Athlon = PC133
Athlon C 133FSB = PC2100 DDR (I think)
Athlon XP w/KT266(A) = PC2100 DDR
Athlon XP w/KT333 = PC2700 DDR
Athlon XP w/KT400(A) = PC3200DDR but most people use 2700
nForce 2 = same as KT400
P4 uses either RAMBUS or PC2100/2700 depending on the chipset...I dunno much about hte P4 side.
