Windows XP on Laptop and Standby
Hello,
I just recently reformatted my laptop and reinstalled windows xp pro on it.
Before I reformatted it I had it set up so that when I closed my laptop it put the computer in standby. When I opened it, it went out of standby.
Now that I reinstalled I cannot remember how I did this. I found the thing in power options for what to do when I close the lid of my computer but the only option is Do Nothing. I suspect this is where I would tell it to go into standby mode but how do I change it so that that is an option?
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Steven

Sleep mode
After installing XP , just set the Power Schemes under Power Options to Portable\Laptop .

Was already set to portable laptop. I figured it out though. Didn't realize it didn't auto detect the Geforce 2 Go videa adapter in it for some reason so when I reinstalled it properly the option to standby became available.
