PHP local server
Hi
I want to test php on my computer, what server software can i install on my machine ?. tks

What OS? If its windows, then you can install Apache, PWS or IIS depending on your version of windows. If its linux, then Apache is already there (i think, i havent worked with Linux in a while)

Stuck in the 80s
I've heard people tell me before that Apache doesn't run well on Windows. Well, I've never had a problem with it, and it works great to test out my scripts.
I haven't tried IIS, but I can recommend Apache if you're thinking about that option.

I've tried PHP on Windows using both Apache and IIS.... in the end I prefered Apache, but that was for other reasons not related to PHP. At any rate PHP works just fine on either server platform.

I've never heard of anybody say that apache doesn't run well on windows. I have never had a problem with it. those people are the ones that can't do anything by themselves. always have to have someone hold there hand while they do it.

Apache installation on windows is as easy as anything can get. Those people were probably induhviduals running WinME.
