Question Crystal Report and VB ?

    Hello

I am doing a project in VB 6.0. There are some reports to be generated. It seems that VB 6.0 does not have Crystal Report, it should be bought separately.

Is there any other option for report generation which comes with VB 6.0 or which can be downloaded free of charge.

    There are 2 options
    1. MS Excel can be used with VB 6.0
    2. Versions of VB lesser than 6.0 has Crystal Report.

But I am looking for other options with VB 6.0 if there are any.

    Please Suggest.

Not exactly, it comes with VS but doesn't get installed by default. it's on CD 2 or 3 and you'd have to install it manually. There is also a Data Report available (not as good as Crystal but it's there). Excel is not a report tool.

    Thanks McGenius !

I have installed Crystal Report from VS CD 3.

Now I am facing diff. problem. When I started designing report some or other wizard asks you to select DB file. Since I am using MS Access I selected MDB file. but it is asking me password for MS Access. But I have not set any password for MS Access.

When I clicked cancel in password message it gives me an error that ISAM driver not found. What it could be ? some drivers are required to be installed separately ??? Please guide...

You can use Data Reports that come along with vb6.0.You have to add reference to it.Data Reports have advantage that it can be directly integrated into your project(IE it can be compiled along with the vb project
