Imagine it this way.
You hold nothing in your hand. You try to divide what you hold in your hand by nothing. It is impossible! Therefore, like ChimpFace9000 said, the result of the function is undefined.

Oh dear, this is gonna get very maths heavy. If you're interested in the various kinda of infinities, and 'transfinite numbers' then check the thread entitled 'maths question' or something, where Guv and Sam have been discussing it.
If I remember right, 0/0 is actually undefined. It's sort of... meaningless.

BTW I satrted the math question, so I'm pretty updated with that, and I guess there really is no real answer

I'm gonna say it's 1.
I'm not gonna get into any arguments backing it up though.
Basicly the answer you get depends on the sum you used to get 0/0, by far the simplest sum is the limit of x/x as x->0(Keep working out x/x for smaller and smaller values of x as no matter how samll we make x the answer will be 1 we can say that the answer is 1)
but as you could also get it for 2x/x or Tan(x)/Sin(x) ln(1-x)/x^2 or whatever (which give answers 2,1 and infinity) then we can pretty much say it's anything. fortunatley if you actually need an answer then you will have a formula for getting it so you'll get an answer.
but 1 is if you like the simplest answer.

0 / 0 = 0
imagine this example:
you have no apple.
and you have no friends.
how much apples get every friend???

Undefined
In simpler words, 0/0 = anything for anything times 0 = 0.
But in superior maths, you can approximate an answer dividing the derivate functions. Then, 0/0 can be 0, 1, a finite number or infinity.
