    USB Drive

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a USB drive means that I should be able to plug it into the USB port, and the "removable drive" should automatically appear in My Computer... without the need of drivers, etc....

Does a USB drive actually require an installation?

ALso, is there a difference between a USB Drive and a USB Flash drive?

From what I've heard, Win 2k and up should detect it automatically, and not need an installation.

Every windows OS that supports USB, autodetects a USB drive. No installation required. Except if you're running win98SE or 98 with USB support.A USB Drive and a USB Flash drive are the same things.

One thing though, in Win2k and below, you need to disconnect the USB device in Windows before removing the hardward, however in XP, you can plug and unplug at will. The OS wont yell at you..
