War Is Peace!!
War Is Peace!
Freedom Is Slavery!
Ignorance Is Strength!
I never thought I would live to see the day these principles of IngSoc would ever be put to practice, with NewSpeak thrown in too.
For the dimly lit heads, that slogan is from 1984, by George Orwell. I bet he didn't even think a namesake of his would actually follow on the footsteps of the Party
So, now Syria is your next target, Mr. Bush? After you have done a miserable job of 'liberating' whatever is left of a country, and have equally miserably failed to find anything remotely resembling the WMDs, suddenly you had a 'vision' of Syria testing chemical weapons??

Not to jump the gun here, but I seriously doubt if Syria is going to be attacked by the coalition troops.
Who knows if they have chemical weapons or not. I haven't been there so I can't say for sure. The main concern is that Syria maybe aiding and allowing asylum to saddams regime.
Syria made its first mistake by letting pro-saddam, militant individuals cross the syrian border into iraq to fight coalition troops. 59 have already been captured. Their second mistake was when we realized the weapons these individuals had in their possession were government issued. Therefore one could be led to believe that Syria not only allowed pro-saddam fighters to cross the border, but also supplied them with their weapons.
So far the talks about Syria have been about imposing sanctions on their country....nothing about war with them....They would be smart not to provoke though, seeing as how we have over 200,000 troops within a couple of hundred miles of their border. And we could just roll right in and start another round of middle eastern spring cleaning there too.

I say we take out Syria and Iran while we are there... there's no reason to move all these troops and equipment over there again and waste billions of American tax payer dollars.

But since deployment is one of the main times where the private sector is involved in a military operation this represents a way of pumping billions of American tax payer dollars into a severely deflated economy...and since the US military primarily uses US suppliers this shouldn't even affect the balance of trade figures.

You poor pathetic humanitarian soul! Those killed in combat will be awarded medals, and the US government shall see to it that their widows/widowers or whoever are left are paid their pensions.
If you are talking about the Iraqi lives, they are free of Saddam now! So what if they lost more lives in a matter of weeks than they would have in a matter of months? They are getting their country rebuilt, and they no longer need to dream of living in the US because the new Iraq will be just as good as the US!
So what are you wonkering pathetic teary-eyed chickenhearted fool talking about?

That's right. 1000 (or whatever the number) people killed over a matter of months for the sheer enjoyment of a murdering dictator is the way to go.

Pensions are for retirement. I don't think there were any retired servicemen there
Their families will get the SGLI (Soldiers Group Life Insurance) payment which is about $200,000.
And the Iraqis will get freedom at the cost of these soldiers lives.
