php vs perl?
i need to make cgi.
please give me reasons for what is better: php or perl?
for what is php and for what is perl?

Stuck in the 80s
PHP and Perl (CGI) are both server-side scripting languages and are both used for practically the same thing.
PHP is about 400 times better, in my opinion.
It offers a great interface with MySQL and other databases, and best of all, it can be embedded within an HTML page.
Just about everything is better in PHP. File handling, database manipulation, etc.

well not exactly the same.
php was more intended for dynamic content as perl is written for more backend stuff.
php is easier to learn than perl, but perl is stronger in the backend.
all depends on you personal taste.

I've used both, but as far as I'm concerned phpman has explained it spot on!
