You know...
...I'm for the war...but I have to admit: when Bush talks unscripted, you can tell he's an idiot...

Goto agree there, but ever since 9/11 (or a few days after that), his speech writers have been on top of most things. His initial reaction to 9/11 was less than articulate "We're going to find the bad folks who did this..."
You just proved that sig advertisements work.

Some people are great public speakers some are not. Doesn’t make them an "idiot" as you say. Might make them look like one but just how they speak in public and not a real sign of their intelligence. Not many idiots I know graduated from Yale.

What would be? I heard he scored lower than any US president on an IQ test.
Then there is also the consideration of relevant intelligence. Having the ability to come up with a decent speech in a little time is a much more useful ability for a president and leader than say being a musical, or mathamatical genius.
Dont get me wrong, he's doing a decent job, I just think he's being coached a lot behind the scenes.

President George W Bush is truly representative of his constituency.

I'm not just talking about his ability to speak. I'm talking about the thoughts behind those words. He isn't too bright when his thoughts aren't scripted.

Yes but his thoughts are usually presented in front of the world. As I said some are good speakers and can think on their feet. Some cant. I just don’t think its an overall sign of intelligence. And his speeches are mostly scripted. Abraham Lincoln was a horrible public speaker and didn’t do well in front of crowds. I wouldn’t exactly call him an idiot would you?
I usually just judge the guy in charge by how well they do. Not by how well they can speak in front of the cameras
