DirectX
I am trying to use references microsoft.directX, microsoft.directX.directd3d, and microsoft.directX.direct3dx, but for some reason it says they are missing. I went to the .NET control panel and it showed them there. I have both the .NET framework and DirectX 9 SDK.
How can I get VS to recognize the dlls?

Alright, I was able to find the dll inside a directX installation CAB and link to it manualy- and it works, but that is a pain and it would be good to know why it is missing

I've got the same error.
I downloaded/installed the DirectX9 SDK for VB.NET and got the error saying the "Microsoft.DirectX.DLL" assembly could not be found. So I uninstalled that and downloaded/installed the complete DirectX9 SDK and I still have the same error messages and I can't reference Microsoft.DirectX.*
Which cab file did you find the dlls in?
The .NET assembly Microsoft.DirectX.dll could not be found

Do a search on C: partition for " Microsoft.DirectX.* "

I only found the Microsoft.DirectX.*.xml files in the SDK not the dlls.

I've just installed DX9 SDK . It's working fine . You should to specifiy to run needed files from your machine before installation ends . But the weirdest thing is : DirectMusic is not there . I've been told there is none in DX9 !

I think I did that. I went into custom setup and selected everything to run from my harddrive.
I installed the DirectX 9 SDK (~220mb) and that didn't work. Then I uninstalled and installed the DirectX9 VB.NET SDK Components.
When VS loads, I get the DirectX logo on the VS splash screen, but none of the DirectX dlls appear in my reference dialog...

I have the same wizard, but it doesn't work because the code doesn't find the DirectX.dll files.... I can run the wizard and it asks like 4 different sets of questions (like are you using Direct3D, Direct this-or-that, etc.)

It should be of help that wizard . I can't run it because it's asking of default.htm file under directx9 folder .!

I think that I have that file. If I do have it, then I will trade it for the DirectX.*.dll files
I can send you those files when I get home tonight after work and class.

Is the VB.NET subset of directX 9 SDK a stand-alone version for just VB.NET? Has anybody tried using it?
I tried installing it, but nothing seemed to work with it. At least when I installed the full SDK, I get the DirectX logo on my VS StartUp screen. I haven't been able to get the other SDK to work yet either.
