No, I'm quite sure it is. My friend has had one since Christmas.

Anyway You see the prices they want for a 3Ghz Falcon Northwest Mach V? I do like the Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 digital speaker system that comes with it though.

It's because it's overpriced Intel. AMD have come up with a much cheaper, better performing solution, the Barton 3000+.

The performance point is arguable...

Monday Morning Lunatic
I'd think it was fairly comparable performance (that said, my 1.54 Athlon XP outperforms my dad's new 2.02 P4 ) for a lot less.

Agreed.
The P4 3.06Ghz does actually perform better than the Barton 3000+, but only just. The AMD 64's will easily out-perform the P4's... but you'll have to wait until september-03 for those.
Quite simply... if it's price you're looking for, AMD will always come out on top. If it's the very latest "sqeeze every last drop of Mhz" type PC you're looking for... then Intel P4's are your best bet.
Or you could consider a Celeron....
....
...
Well, maybe not!

Paul.
