how to start??
Hello,
I have used bits of Java and VB 6 before and wanted to start learning some C# via tutorials. What is the tool that I use to code- something like Visual Studio?
Also, any recommended sites? I have had a quick look at the Microsoft site and there seems to be quite a lot of support...
Cheers!

Welcome to C#
Well, there are a few editors you could use, among them are Notepad (Free), Visual Studio.NET (No Where Near Free), SharpDevelop (Very Free).
As for tutorials, there are tons, if/when you download the .NET Framework, there are a bunch of included samples and tutorials. These forums have a few links to places as well. Microsoft's site has tons of resources, i would suggest starting there.

- Database Administrator (MSSQL 2000)
- Application Developer (C#)
- Web Developer (ASP.NET)

I really liked these videos that this guy puts out. It is usually easier to learn when someone is showing you how to do things:

great- thanks for the links.
Going to spend some time trawling through the stuff now
- The free SharpDevelop @ic#code tool... haven't installed that yet, but will do soon!
- Hopefully, I can get a copy of Visual Studio .NET quite soon!
