MySQL not starting
I'm having a bit of a problem... MySQL is set to run as a service on my computer (Win2k). It was working fine last night, but when I rebooted my computer in the mornign, and tried to connect, it said could not connect.
THen i went into services. MySQL was listed as automatic startup, but when i looked at the properties, it was stopped. I pressed start and it told me that error 1067 occured and that the process unexpectedly terminated.
Anyway to fix this?

Funny, I couldn't find anything easily using www.mysql.com's search engine with "error 1067", but google.com using "mysql error 1067" came back with a post from mysql.com.
http://www.mysql.com/doc/en/Windows_running.html
One comment says the folowing, but there are a few more comments:
I was also getting the error
System error 1067
Service could not be started
etc...
I moved my.ini from c:\winnt\system32\my.ini to c:\my.cnf and voila!!
Be nice if the docs were correct!!!

funny how that worked. you should have both a ini and cnf file. mine works just fine with the ini file in the winnt/system32 folder, going on a year now
