any type of personal messaging

sometimes i see a user on
and i would like to message that person and try to get the quickest response instead of waiting for an email from them or posting the message on chit chat and HOPE to GAWD that person will read it

i was wondering that everyone should have a so called private messaging system

where i post a message to someone
and some how that person is notified,,
doesnt have to be LIVE
but if that person maybe has a blinking icon or something telling them to go to their personal message center ect

in short
any type of one-one messaging system would be awesome

That's not a bad idea...most time if you see someone that you want to talk to you would try to get him/her on icq but that doesn't always work, and e-mail takes a while.
Something like a messaging system woudn't be a bad idea.
