    MSN Messenger

    I hate it when I'm playing a game like CS and some idiot sends me 45 messages, so I minimize my game to see who it is... but with games like CS, you lose your sound when you maximize... Is there a way that while I'm playing a game, I put a small app to run in the background. I want this app to check who's sending me messages, if it's one of the people I want to talk to, It will minimize my game and give me an alert, but if it's someone I DON'T want to talk to, it will just do nothing. If this is possible (and I'm pretty sure it is) how do I start?

    lol , MSN became annoying these days specially with spams . Three options for you :
    1-Block suspicious .
    2-Shut down MSN Messenger .
    3-Change your Email .

    1. sometimes it's just my friends talking to me, saying stuff I want to hear... but LATER, not right away
    2. I can't, sometimes I'm waiting for someone
    3. nah, it's not spam that's my problem (well on my e-mail yeah, but not on messenger)

    There is a very easy way to do this.

    Using the MSN VB add-on thing.
    Look it up there is a way to block messages will msn is open and record them for later view.
    First person to be able to get what song is currently playing in Winamp 3.

    yeah.. but that is not exactly what I want... I want that when lets say my girlfriend sends me a message, my app will beep 5 times, to let me know I have a message from someone i WANT to hear from...

    Well, the one that comes with XP, but I upgraded it to V4.7

    MSN PLUS 2 ? tried it ? it's a very cool and popular add-in. And it even allows different sounds for different people talking ... that's what you need right ?

    man just uncheck the option to appear that chat alert and sign in alert and msn's sounds and it should work like a sharm

    I've never heard or experienced losing sound when minimizing then maximizing any game. Ive used all OS's, never heard of it. Maybe its your sound card/driver or just crappy programming used by the game ( Called C++! ).
