    Talking Access 97 vs Access XP

    Hi. I was using Access 97 in my Visual Basic programs, but then installed Office XP.
    Now, all DBs i create in AccessXP are in 2002 format (i think that's what it's called)

    Anyway, as i've only got VB98, it copes fine with Access 97 files, but freaks out with anything more recent.

    What i was wondering was:
    1) Is it possible to save DBs in 97 format??
    2) If not, can Access 2002 DBs be used in VB98 programs??

    All that happens atm is that when i try to use a DB, it says its in an unrecognised format.

    normally, if you check options, you can change the version you save to, otherwise, choose extra => database tools => convert => to previous version ...

    hope this helps ya
    very handy: [vbcode][/vbcode]
    VB.NET - VB6 - VBA - ASP - RPG(AS/400) - C++ - java - SQL

    look in the help, many probs can be solved that way.
    I know, i'm to lazy too.

    PLEASE PUT RESOLVED IF RESOLVED!!
