JSP-Server
Hi
I'm trying to find an advise/a help which JSP-Server has the best performance/stability mixture. It doesn't has to be a free JSP-Server (would be nice though) but not necessary.
I found serveral "recommanded" JSP-Servers
- Tomcat
- JRun
- Resin (which should be "faster" than Tomcat)
- Orion
The aim of the JSP-Server will be an E-Commerce Website which will be realized with JSP as the web frontend, JavaBeans for the functions and the connection with the DB and Oracle 9i as the DB.
I worked with basically the same project before and we realized it with Tomcat 3.2. The benefit of this constellation wasn't what I expected. I know the newer release of Tomcat are more stable than the other but I'm curious if JRun, Resin, Orion or other JSP-Servers are more usefull for this purpose (Business Website).
Is there a web developer who has experience with different JSP-Servers and can give a short summary about which one is the best in his/her oppinion and why?
Or should I consider trying something like Borland Application Server or Oracle Internet Application Server which are surely built for business purpose... but does it make sense to use such a big server environment for only JSP's and JavaBeans?
What's about the simplicity of installing and getting the web server to run? I heard a lot about Tomcat and other free JSP-Servers are hard to install and configure, so what's about the non-free commercial JSP-Servers, has anyone experience with them (Orion, Resin, Oracle9iAS, Borland Application Server etc.)?
I hope I've put my thoughts to paper correctly.
Thanks in advance for any help
