Don't try what I did !
I've read Microsoft .NET Help on how to speed up opening .NET projs . Then I followed the instructions , I ended up with weird bugs .
When I try opening new proj , it just adds new proj without any form and immediately closes the IDE . Then I run the IDE again and open the proj , it just open it but when I add new form it closes without any introduction . Does anyone has the bug before ???

btw VS gives me an unknown error whenever I try to open one of my projects (only happens on this one), and it says that I have to close VS. (I dont get this error on another machine)

I'm wondering if MS knows about these bugs and still watching for more . They just release a product and immediately look for another just for making money of buggy progams

Just curious, I don't notice many bugs in VS.NET, matter of fact I can't think of any that affect me throughout the day(using VS 2002) and I code .NET day and night for production stuff.
Can anyone list any frequently(frequently=bugs that occur many times per day) occuring bugs they get? I don't use designers or wizards in VS.NET for the most part, could that be why I don't notice the bugs?
My VS.NET usage includes multiple-project solutions, custom control projects, user controls, web apps in general, building projects locally, copying necessary files to the production server, rebuilding the remote server, etc. Maybe there aren't any noticable bugs in those things.
Maybe it's odd hardware/software combinations with VS that causes weird bugs, here's my hardware/software configuration, maybe you guys have other software on there that VS doesn't like:
Hardware, nothing spectacular:
1.2 Amd Athlon
1 gig pc133 ram
2-60 gig harddrives
64mb Radeon 7200 video
Software:
Win2K Advanced Server SP3
SQL2K SP3
VS 6.0 SP5
VS.NET 2002 Latest SP
Borland Delphi 6.0
Oracle 9i Client Software, .NET provider
Sun ONE Studio CE(Community Edition)
OfficeXP
That's the big stuff I guess, and with that I get a pretty bug free day. I'm curious to know what kind of environment you guys use VS.NET in.

I use .NET on multiple machines (1 at work and 2 at home) and it seems that some machines don't have some of the common bugs that some others do. Most of the systems are almost the same, but I haven't tried to figure out what is the cause of the difference. Such is the case sometimes with bugs that its some wierd combo of items on your system or software or maybe something during the installation. In no way do I mean this to be an excuse, they should still all be fixed for all systems. Its just something funky I spotted.

I'm running XP with VS6 , VS.NET (C# & VB) , 3D MAX 5.0 , Office XP , Norton 2003 . I used to have these programms for a while along with VS.NET . I never get any bug , if I have VS.NET in its default settings . But when I change the defaults , troubles start over . I do believe that some hardware and software can affect any product but this isn't my issue here . It's just a general bug and as I've heard a lot of guys are complaining new bugs in this new promising product VS.NET 2003 .

I checked out that list (http://www.jelovic.com/dotnetbugs/) and I guess I have yet to run into those probs but good to know if i ever do. I know bugs suck to have to deal with but honestly I can't even begin to fathom producing the .NET framework and VS.NET let alone trying to make it run on every user/machine/software combination on earth. I think it would be really weird if that software was produced WITHOUT at least a million "bugs" based on it's size and complexity. I would think also due to the complexity, that fixing the bugs would also be a nightmare...fix one here and it breaks something over there, man I bet bug tracking is crazy over there.

lol another link here though .
dude , I know how hard to track bugs only in big products BUT MS has another easy option which is : stop releasing new products of the same untill they fix those negligible bugsand stick with it for couple of years .

notice how this site http://w3.one.net/~kevinw/VB_NET/vbbugs.htm is just from a guy who actually isnt listing bugs but didnt explore the IDE properly to make a wise opinion...he if he knew really how a program under .NET works would never ever make a statement like the following : "No run-time "on the fly editing" allowed with VB.NET"..
ah e eu n uso vb.net isso suka..ando + é em c# lol

How can you say that?
He's absolutely right, a VB 6 programmer used to use that functionality over and over and over! I did! And I hate VB.Net for not allowing me to do it anymore!

the reason is simple..if a program is compiled how do you want to change it's code on the fly?! and one of the reasons of why people call vb a toy language is its slowness and interpreted-language

anyways the guy doesnt know what he's talking about that isnt an IDE bug but a language property

Because if you have a break on line 50 and in the mean time you realise that there is a bug in line 55 in VB 6 you can change line 55 because the program is paused, and then resume it afterwards. In VB.Net you can't do it anymore.
And it is somewhat an IDE "feature", though not entirely, yes. But I don't think that all his effort in writting that site is worthless jsut because he considered it an IDE bug and not a language bug, or whatever you want to call it.
Pá, não te esqueças que agora o C#e o VB são a mesma coisa por trás, apenas a sintaxe é diferente!

Well, the sintax is 99% correct, but the semantics are awful!
