    Here is an interesting question. Is it possible to detect the caller line identity (number) of an incoming call in Visual Basic? If so how can this be accomplished.

    First you need a modem that support the Caller ID protocol used by your telco. Then you can retrieve it by sending the correct AT Command set suppy by the modem.

    hi Chris,

    i read your various submissions about caller id, seems that you can help me out.
    been trying irregularly for about 1 year counting...

    i live in India, newDelhi. I have the facility to posess a caller id that i can attach to my lan lines... and view the caller number from a caller id device/unit.

    I noted you wote someting about modem sould be capable of the same...

    heres my modem detail as my comp mgmt shows:
    GVC 33.6K External, Voice, Speakerphone Modem PnP

    well please give an adive or a specific hint so that a fool like me can understand.
