    Question How To Protect A Folder

    Hi Folks,

    I need to Protect my Folder, so that only I can open it with a self software made in vb.

    Explaination:
    1. Costimize your Folder Options to view all files and folders

    Now, If you have MSN Explorer:
    1. Right click its icon would show something like: ("C:\Program Files\MSN\MSNCoreFiles\msn6.exe")

    2. Follow the path ("C:\Program Files\MSN\MSNCoreFiles\")

    3. Now go a step back (i.e. "C:\Program Files\MSN\")

    Result:
    You will notice only one file at the status bar, but the folders size would be about 32.00 MB

    similarly MSDN is also plased in our OS...

    can anyone help me find a solution to "How to make such folder through VB, or C++"

    Thanx to letting me know... I have really learnt a lot from VBForums questions and replies.

    Take care,

    Exclamation

    Thanks for the Link, but,

    I guess what the folks there answered in private messages would be something like Renaming Folders by adding the following text

    Windows Icon(Real Icon)
    MyFolder.{00021401-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}

    Network
    MyFolder.{208D2C60-3AEA-1069-A2D7-08002B30309D}

    Recyclebin
    MyFolder.{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

    =============

    This is not the solution as i can rename the folder again from the dos prompt and get the internal data.
