Malicious Script Detected???
Every time(almost) I open VB Norton AntiVirus pops up a message that says this:
Alert: Malicious script detected
Object FileSystem Object
Activity GetFolder
You computer is halted and needs to do something about this script:
File: devenv.exe
What do you want to do?
Action: Stop this script(recommended)
Is this normal or is this a virus?

I think it is a virus infected your VS.NET file(devenv.exe). I have norton antivirus on my machine and nothing bad happened .

It's not necessarily your devenv.exe was infected . I would suggest disabling norton temporarily so that you can keep on coding

I have been getting this message almost since the time that I got VB.NET, only today it pops up every time I open VB.
I have scanned my computer muiltipul times since I started getting this error.
I can keep on developing code in VB it's just that I'm experincing problem with VB(mostly with the debbuger).

It's the nature of Script Blocking Technology of Norton AntiVirus. It happened to me once and I just chose to let it run the entire script. Everythnig is in tune now and I am sure i have no virus on computer. In presence of Norton AntiVirus you may not even be able to run some ASP scripts as it detects them as malicious.

Isn't this a bug in Norton app . Maybe they will release fix for it so that it can differentiate between a true virus and fake ones.

When Norton Antivirus detect a malicious script it just means that a script is trying to do something that most scripts don't do like writing to the hard drive.
