I have found some manufacturers selling "refurbished" motherboards at a discount rate along with the usual 1 year warranty on parts and labor. Has anyone ever tried any of these deals? Also, what would be the main thing they could do to refurbish a warranty item in the first place? Cold solder joint, redo a messed up flashed bios, replace a cmos battery, a capacitor for a power supply, etc...?? I don't think it would be any major operation on chipsets etc. Anyone??

they could replace the chipset i suppose, but so far as fixing a defective chipset...no
