Looking for people....
I've posted this one in another forum too... didn't see this one forum... (oops).. Ahh well... here's an exact copy:
Hi everyone reading this ,
Since a few months ago I started working out on a MMORPG.. (seems everyone is starting out on that these days)...
Basically I need a few guys that like to help out and develop along with me and a few others (Currently I've got 5 others in (maps, sound&music, quests) and me doing all the programming..
preferably guys that have a bit of know how in VB, experience with DX8 is a plus and if you are dutch its even better
Below is some game information for those that are eager to see whats going on....
------
Terranomium (Project name)
Based in a large 3d world, players can do what they want to be, from farmer to all-time hero. Nothing stands in the way of glory of cleaning up sheep poo or crushing the skull of a mighty ogre.
With a estimate of around 1000 players per server excluding moderators and administrators there will be a packed world.
Players can choose to play free and be restricted to a certain area, players that pay a small fee... ($3 or €2.80 per month) can roam the world for as long as they like.
Though we like it that players pay there are ways that non-paying characters can expand their territory so that non paying chars can play and see more of the large outdoors.
There will be no limited time of play. Non playing characters can continue to play in their restricted area for as long as they want to (in comparison with UO, Everquest, etc)
---------
Technical stuff...
* DirectX 8-based engine.
* BSP-Based world with pre-loading technique.. (When a player comes near the edge of a map the next map will auto load in the background thus players dont have to wait till the next map is loaded when they exit).
* MD3 models. (realistic models)
* Script engine for easy editing of maps.
* Map add-ons. (After a while the worldmap will grow)
* Dynamic Lodding.. (Level of Detail, Large hordes of monsters 2 miles away wont throw your videocard on its knees)
* Easy learning curve
* Difficulty class changes if you go in teams, the larger the team the harder monsters are and the more XP you get of them
* 'Dungeonmaster' style moderators and administrators.. ability to control the world, creating quests realtime and the ability to reward players, etc.
* Support for Dolby 5.1/6.1/7.1 sets (Through OpenAL)
* Dynamic music (Music changes/Crossfades when things happen)
* And a few things I can't remember atm.

So specificially I'm searching for people that want to help along and want to stick around the team and who are either specialised or have some experience in these things:
- Script engines
- DX8 coding
- C++ 'Conversion' DLL.. (ie. OpenAL -> VB...) and maths.
- Game routines (Game loops and how to optimize them)
- Networking (Client -> Server coding).. and how to keep bandwidth as low as possible without hurting performance.
I prefer dutch guys since our team is mainly dutch, but people that can talk/write/code in english can also apply.
Any questions can be directed towards me,

:)
Same as above, check your mail.
Though I hope psp5 supports PSD files, since most of my own designs and stuff are in PSD files.
