Question of image control
I posted this in the general area and am trying it here instead as I might get better luck. Also, would and icon or cursor be the best way to handle this?
thanks,

Do gifs and the image control in VB6 have some unique problems? I made a few small transparent gifs with small padlocks on them to be used on a form to show if a field was locked or not. The gifs work fine on Win2000 but are invisible on Win98. Another funny thing is that when I made the images in bitmap style and used the button face color for a background color to match my form (to make it look transparent), it worked fine in Win98 but NOT in Win2000. In Win2000 the image was fine but the background showed. I then discovered the appearance for the display properties, if changed from standard to classic, would help quite a bit. What I don't understand, is how the gradient effect of the caption bar can change the background of my bitmap in the image control??Anyone?
Thanks,
schemer
