    Would you please ...

I wonder if whoever maintains the appearance of this site can make "UserCP ... Log Out" buttons bigger and also make them to stand out a liitle more than they do now. it sort of difficult to find them, especially when screen resolution is high.

    Thanks for considering.

The other option I would consider is putting them back to the text links that they were before. I don't know if that would make them easier to read or not.

I'd want to hear opinions on which people would prefer (text like before 0r buttons like now) before making such a change.

What screen resolution are u using?

    I'm on 1000 X 700, and there fine.

Although having them on the left now confuses the hell out of me... meh...

you are one of the moderators, aren't you? Can you pass on my message to those that can answer, please?

Are you talking about that question? If so then Brad answered it. If it's some other question then please let me know.

I guess my answer could have been clearer. Adding bigger buttons causes a number of issues -- which includes getting the buttons created. I've been asked by a number of members to keep graphics sizes to a minimum for optimal downloading of pages - bigger buttons would most likely increase the file size of the graphics (although minimally). Additionally, for people using lower resolutions, bigger buttons end up taking up more of the screen than is necessary. As such, they prefer them to be smaller rather than larger.

I threw out the option of switching back to text, which may be a little easier to read than the buttons. The text size, however, would be the same size as the text that was previously displayed. Text size can, however, be increased by changing settings in your browser.

We are willing to consider any reasonable change request; however, the impact to the overall community will have to be considered.

The order of the buttons should never change, so once you've used them a few times, they should become intuitive.

I'm using 1152x864, and the buttons look fine. Very easy to find, very easy to click. So I would see no reason in needing to change anything.

I just switched to 1280x1024 (as high as my monitor can go) and they're still easy to find/see. So I don't know what the problem is.

I'd say that if his resolution is set any higher than the one I just tested, it would be his own problem.

Might I suggest possibly getting some prescription eyeware or possibly working on increasing your memory skills so that you can remember where the buttons are?

    Mr. HOBO,
your sarcasm isn't acceptable and your comments are just expressing your airheaded mentality. And after all - who's asking you ?

I'm pretty sure that the administrators aren't going to make banners of each button just because one <snip>

This is a community. We all can express our opinions when we want, and how we want.

You do know Windows comes with a mangifying program, right? Or perhaps you can just make your resolution smaller?

... And these forums aren't setup only to suit you. Grow up.
That's exactly right - you just took words from my mouth.
I would also expect a formal apology from you.

    ...and how we want.
Actually, you can state it how you want as long as you don't violate the site usage statement. Calling someone names, does violate the site usage statement, and thus is one "how you want" that is not acceptable.

The Hobo is right in that changes need to be considered in regard to how they impact everyone. Right now, only one person has requested that the icons be made bigger. There were two other people who had asked that the graphics be removed completely to reduce bandwidth requirements. I've received lots and lots of feedback via PM, e-mail, and otherwise that has stated that they are happy with the way the graphics and buttons are now.

Based on the feedback, at this time, the currently buttons seem to be the most popular.

I know that multiple styles increase the load on forum maintenance, but two or three styles with a couple of simple choices between buttons and text links and/or a choice of forum color scheme would be one way of handling this.

How about a drop-down box where the buttons are, but on the right! It would function the same as the forum jump box already does (on a topic page), but would have the user cp, calender, members, etc. buttons as its items.
All contents of the above post that aren't somebody elses are mine, not the property of some media corporation.

Your a funny fellow Mr McGenius, I'll give you that.

Heres a tip, pay attention to the "Date Registered" section of members avators, as it ususally gives you a hint on who you should listen to.

    Secondly,
    Mr. HOBO,
your sarcasm isn't acceptable and your comments are just expressing your airheaded mentality. And after all - who's asking you ?
When you posted in this forum, u asked everyone, including Mr Hobo.

Finally, just cause no-one likes your idea, doesn't mean you have to get all immature about it...

    Brad,

    1. He's right on what - calling me a ******* ???!!!
If he won't apologize - I will definitely proceed with some legal action! You didn't have to modify his post to hide it I have a local copy.

    2. I have absolutely no problem with either: text or buttons; not at all. All I've asked was if it's possible to make them (whatever that could be) to stand out because they are now sort of blended with their background. Tha's all, nothing more than that, and I don't really need a pool to find out everyone's preferences. But if you read this topic's header then you would you see "Would you please ..." which means you'll do it if you really want to, otherwise just forget about it.

But I also don't need people to call me anything but my name or nickname.

    Thanks
    McGenius

    uh, no.

Calling others names is a violation of this sites usage policies, so I will never agree with someone making such comments. I also won't deal with such issues in public forums -- rather I deal with them in private messages.

What I agreed with was part of the small amount that was left of his posts. I believe I stated this --> "changes need to be considered in regard to how they impact everyone."

I will consider any change or request; and I appreciate your request and suggestion.

As to editing the comments, I did that because they violated the usage policy of this site. I didn't hide them, I removed them.

    // off topic....

I'm not sure who you are targeting this comment towards. If you wish to take legal action, feel free--although legal action is never free. I'd be personally curious to know what action you could actually take. Slander, libel, and other such legal topics have a number of conditions that have to be met. Simple name calling doesn't do it.

Mr. HOBO, of course, and believe me - money won't be an object UNLESS he (I repeate myself) publicly appologize.

I might just give you my personal information (although I believe that violates the rules too) just so I can be present in the funny court case that would follow. I'm sure a judge would love to hear you complain to him about how I called you a name.

And I did appologize to you, but it was deleted. Although it probably wasn't the appology you expected, you did not specify what you wanted me to appologize for.

If you want to take legal action against me for calling you a name, perhaps I will take legal action against you for calling me names (or stating, specifically, that I have an "airheaded mentality").

Good day, McGenius. I'll see you in the funny pages.
