Winamp Q.
Open up Winamp.
Play a song
while it's playing, in the equalizer window, click:
PRESETS > LOAD > Preset...
A window pops up with a particular preset highlited. Pick a preset other than the highlited one, and click "LOAD"
Now, you're back in the winamp window. Go to the next song.
The equalizer window goes back to the way it was before you loaded!
Tell me how I can get it such that any setting I make in the equalizer window remains until the next time I change the settings.

Good Ol' Platypus
Latest "classic" version is 2.81. Maybe you should download that, and check the changelogs to see if it's been fixed.

I agree with Sastraxi
V.3 is crap. I downloaded it yesterday along with a few nice skins, and uninstalled it 2day. Buggy and it crashes on XP Pro.
They need to get their act together. Even when you sign up, they give you a bl**dy stupid password, which you can't change. It says in the confirmation e-mail you can change it by clicking this link... and it just takes you back to the signup page again!
Oh well... byebye WinAMP.
Regards,
Paul.

You don't have to signup to download WinAMP, but you're supposed to get lots of extra's if you do.
You can't change the passwords, and it crashes every few minutes in XP. Nice IDE but you need classy code behind it so it functions properly. Something to think about WinAMP designers.

Paul.

I heard rumours about it being the same guys that started Netscape or Mozilla or something that startet up WinAmp....so I suppose they know what they are doing....but maybe they forgot to check with XP....

Unfortunately... you're right.
It has the basis of a very good program, but has a few to many bugs for my liking! Sorry Nullsoft.

V3 is crap, which is why I haven't downloaded it.
(noteme, are you getting a message here? )
I'll try it out with 2.81, thx.
I prefer the classic versions because they've got more of the 'keyboard' control thing. AFAIK, you can't use the ever so useful "j" jump to file shortcut in v3, can you?

Thats exactly the point. It should play my mp3s(or Shoutcast streams), and not take up all of my resources to look pretty. I dont want to look at the thing, and my computer is old enough that I DO need to worry about how much memory this program or that is using.

Ditto. I'm listening to the music, I don't want to look at the player.

Then why use a bloated, buggy player that uses huge amounts of resources?

That was a joke, if you didn't understand that. I'm just always downøoading the newest version. I'm a simple peroson. Don't carre that much. My PC never uses up all of it's resources anyway...
