Pc making a smell, like ink, or burnz
I have my case open, their is a smell comeing out, I cant tell if its the PSU or hsf. But it smells like ink, or burning wire. The PC seems fine physically and software wise. No smoke or anything and fan speeds seem fine. What can the problem be?

Hmm it's difficult to say, if you can't see anything at first glance it could be your PSU?

I'd advise you to take a deep whiff of each suspected component first.

I got a new PSU, this one is 400Watts, old was 320. Now as soon I opened and sniffed the PSU.. it smelled like the old one, ink-burning-smell. Anyway, I hooked it up and all, and it seems to be working, smell is still there but I cant tell if its still from psu or from something else, all the other things work fine so I dont think its anything else. I think this might just be "left-over-scent" and ill see what happens in a few days.

You could be heating up dust somewhere. Give the entire system a thorough clean-out (don't take the HS/fan assembly off the processor though, unless you're *really* careful. It'll be clean enough underneath given the contact).

yeah my case is always open, and I have a few problems where the MoBo won't bOOt, but I cleaned everything and it worked, until I get watercooling I can't close the case, it gets too hot. Damn now this new PSU is making a buzz sound, I tapped it and it stopped, I hate building PC's, next time iLL get a Compaq !!
