Academic Edtion

I just bought VB 6 Professional - Academic Edition
I was wondering, if I am legally allowed to sell(!) the apps I make.
A label on the box says : "Acedemic Price. Not for use in a commercial environment."
Does it mean that i'm not allowed, or just that only students and school can buy it?? *confused*

legally you can't sell your software to anyone.

you can give it away, tho.

You are allowed to sell what you will, the thing is, will people be willing to buy it? Visual Basic is for making programs and stuff, I don't think Microsoft would make such a product for your own use. So I believe you are aloud to sell the things you make.

Actually not, Matthew. If it says Not for use in a commercial environment then you cannot use it commercially.

But just to double check, you should call Microsoft.

That's stupid Megatron! Why would Microsoft sell something to you that helps you to make programs that you can't sell yourself? Or is that just the Academic Edition? Some people, like me, can't afford to pay the expensive price ($1000+?) that Microsoft charges for their products. So you find it cheaper, people selling it used for cheaper price or something. Some of the stuff that Microsoft does, really pisses me off .

I just mailed Microsoft to solve this problem...
