After trying out the Enterprise VB from a warez site, I wasn't fantastically impressed & de-installed it.

After putting on my legal Learning Edition copy, I found that I can't add ANY components. I.e. - I can see the standard ones on my component toolbar bit, but on trying to add in a flexgrid, commondialog etc, I get an :
System error &H80004002 (-2147467262)message box, then
the normal screen to select the component from appears, with 1 major difference - the box is blank - I can't select anything!

I have tried the browse option, and re-installing vb several thousand times. Can anyone shed some light please ?

I think the learning edition loses some functionality , thus why it's so cheap, that about as much light I can shed on that.

Well, it sounds like VB has not removed it settings properly from the registry. My best bet is to format your system and reinstall it. I do it all the time to keep my system running with out any problems occuring.

    Hope this helps

    Yes & no!

I can't really as I will have to spend 10 hours looking for all the add-on's & updates I have downloaded, and this is a company PC with loads of work on.

I thought this would be the registry, any ideas which setting though?

    Cheers everyone!

You could be spending several days to find that "Special" setting, if it's so important to you, get VB6 pro version or something, I Still think Learning edition is limited to some aspect (Even tho I've never used the learning edition of VB6)

Also theres a big diff between Enterprise and Learning.
