    Sorry my setup is probably different. I use creative playcenter to rip my Cd's to mp3. It stores them in folders by album title. I play them with windows media player and set my play lists up in it. There is another media folder in the windows directory but I think thats for windows sounds, wave files.

    Irrelavant of what ripping software you use...where did you get it from? The creative software? I use Cdex.
    If you set up play lists in Media Player then it will store a media library file somewhere, god knows what it's called, or what file type it is, but I just want to delete it

    OK I just did a search, but not knowing what it's called, I couldn't find it. Why not just delete it in media player?

    Because Media Player doesn't completely delete them, so if you add them back in the tracks have some old values
    Also, I have to have my mp3's read only because of a problem with Media Player 9 as it damages the artist info of an mp3!!!
