Still outrageous, but better at the same time..... I definatly like it better than the current one (took me a while to see just what you did.)
    * I don't respond to private (PM) requests for help. It's not conducive to the general learning of others.*
    * I also don't respond to friend requests. Save a few bits and don't bother. I'll just end up rejecting anyways.*

    * How to Use Parameters * Create Disconnected ADO Recordset Clones * Set your VB6 ActiveX Compatibility * Get rid of those pesky VB Line Numbers * I swear I saved my data, where'd it run off to??? *

Yeah, definately better. But no ads, which means no profit/money for JupiterMedia, so I highly doubt they'll go along with that.

    bored
I wish I had time to be bored

When I finished (days) a couple of special projects, I was going to try to work with the colors and ad to make them integrate a little better as well. What you have done is better than what I was thinking of trying.

Give us 24 hours (give or take a few) to run this by a few people.

    Brad!

What do you mean no ads? There was an ad......

Have you tried making these changes in a vBulletin system?

We will need to see if the changes can be made without other issues being caused......

I like it but have a question for Slaine.

There is a thin rule (possibly a table border) appearing just above the VB Wire News box in the verison that displays an ad there is no rule/border.

    Is this intential?

Also, is this the same code? It can't be 2 separate code bases; the same code must support the appearance of an ad (when one is called from the server) or no ad (when the server doesn't want to send one).

Glad you like the suggestions. All I was trying to do was balance the design out a bit and make it less glaring - I accept the ads have to be there but thought it should be possible to make them 'fit in' a bit better.

Not really, I just did a bit of cut and paste to get the second lower layout, so probably screwed up on what I was cutting. In practice it would probably look and work better if it was consistent.

The way I did it was to remove a <td> section to drop the ad and the cell it was occupying. I'm not sure how your ad/no ad stuff works but I don't see that it would be too difficult to make it work.

Will tweak it tommorow when I have a bit more time available.

    Cheers
