I program in vb.net but a college class i am taking uses microsoft visual c++ what is the difference between the regular visual c++ and the visual c++ .net version can you compile in the .net version and distribute without having to need the .net framework and will the source from the .net version open up in the normal visual c++ program?
Thanks!

VC++.Net can compile both ordinary C++ apps and Managed C++ apps which require the .Net framework.
