Suggestion
Set up the ads so they come from their own host, like ads.vbforums.com or something similar.

it's much simpler to block the ads if they are on their own server. Just block the whole server, and no ads are shown. that's what I'm doing with the vbwire thing, but now this AMD one is showing up... =/

Can't u just block the filename for the Ad? Using the hosts thing?

No, hosts only lets you block domains. Doesn't let you block them, persay, it's more for editing so that you can bypass your DNS server on websites that have IP addresses that never change.
I'm gonna work on a way to disable advertisements eventually, anything with RealMedia or "Ad" in the name will be blocked... hehe.
