Deployment
After I build a page with ASP.NET how do I deploy it to the "homepage" space my ISP allocates to me? Can this be done on the run of the mill ISP account or does there have to be some kind of special .NET server?

So long as your web host has the .NET framework installed, theoretically you should just have to copy the files up to their respective directories. That's how it works for me and my web host (http://www.activeservers.com). If your ISP is also your web host make sure they support .NET which I'd doubt, that's usually extra if they even offer it.

Thanks Cander. The prices look good at webhost4life. I called to discuss moving my account, but just got a recording asking me to leave my name. Not a good sign, but I'll try again later. Thanks for the info!

Well they are usually really good on support. 90% percent of the time when I sent a support email, I would have a response in 5-10 minutes.

Your welcome. Enjoy!
Oh..make sure that you email them that you need your site configured for .NET. Unless they do it by default now...not sure! When I first joined they didnt. But its gets done pretty quick also.

Im not having very good luck with these guys. My site is down and no one has responded to my online request in over 2 hours. Also no one answers the "24 hour" telephone support line.
So much for 24 hour support and 99.9% uptime guarantee.
Are you sure www.webhost4life.com is the right place?

Finaly got someone to answer the phone and got them to correct THEIR error that had my service down. Response time was 4 HOURS. I hope this is highly unusual for this company.
I think Ill leave my websitesource account open for awhile till I see how well the new service runs ...

Sorry you are having bad luck with them. I have never had these kind'so of support times. It could be a mixture of short staffed due to hoilday vacations and/or lotas of new accounts/renewals.

What to know a real bad support story? There was another web hoster I was using previously..forgot the name... but everytime I called them for support, they would give me crap of how I need to stop using ASP and goto PHP because Microsoft does this, and MS does that, instead of trying to fix an obvious problem that THEY caused.
I ditched them in a heartbeat.

Ive got another ticket open now ... for the last 4 hours. And all it is is a really simple question. I am starting to believe that they arent really staffed 24/7.
Anyway, the servers seem solid ... and the price is right.
If I stay with webhost4life, I will miss the "24 hour live chat support" at websitesource though, thats for sure.
