Why people use costly PDAs?
Some PDAs cost as much as of a laptop computer. Then why so many people use PDAs? What purpose do they serve in reality.
I never used PDA though.

Er...
I have a Handspring Deluxe PDA, and it's great.
People buy them because of the their size. Some of them come with great features too.
Make sure you get colour though... you wouldn't believe the difference it makes.

Paul.

I think mine was $300 (was a gift Palm 505) and of course after that xmas the price dropped to half cos the 701's came out. The reason mine was so expensive is cos it has expantion cards that can have extra memory or programs. The one I had before was a handspring visor and it worked just the same till it died one day. (well it wasnt color).
I'm off to GalahTech, hope to see you there.

Well, I don't really see the point to getting a $700 PDA, but PDAs do have advantages over laptops.
Try carrying your laptop in your pocket. Try running your laptop for 6 hours on one charge.
Me, I have a $150 color Pocket PC, does the job. Next year I might get a Dell Axim.
I'm bringing geeky back...

oh... missed the 2nd part of the question
The purpose mine serves is a grocery list and check book. (basicly an expensive notepad ). I think it is worth it for those two items. I would like to find a relational database for it but havent been bothered to look. I used to use it as a phone directory but now my cell hold all of that info. and I never think to use the calandar.

I have a Casiopeia E-125 for a year and a few months now...while the OS is far from perfect I use it as my grocery list, appoinment calendar, essays, reports, psuedo code, C++ (although I get a helluva alot of syntax errors when I compile it @ home), php, asp, pretty much anything I want to have typed. while I'm waiting in a doctor's office, notes while listening to a professor, etc. Its keyboard and itself can fit in my pockets along with my wallet, cell phone, etc. But anyway I am a bit gadget obsessed.

Nice notebook Zaei. I'd also rather buy that. Look at the size and what you get in it !! It would be more useful than a PDA.
