    Whatever happened to my posts?

When VBForums got it's new makeover, I had to re-register my account. My posts were still here, but mt post count had reset. If I search for a post by user, say, on myself. Only the posts come back that I have posted since the "makeover"

Not that I'm mad or anything, but how can I get my post count restored, and my current post count appended to it? Also it would be neat if my curret account were re-associated with my old account.

I'm wondering if other users had to do this, and their post counts started from scratch again, like say kleinma, or peet.

    Just curious

They're just not associated with me

I tried looking for a previous post by my user name to answer someone's question I had answered before. It didn't show up in the search. I searched again using keywords and it found it. It had my username, but you could tell it wasn't associated with me. My signature wasn't there. My avatar wasn't there.

    That was just an example.

Didn't even recognize you with the new avatar.

I used the search link and nothing before the "makeover" came up. 8-5-02 was the earliest post. Then I searched ADO XML, 6 mos. & older, and got one of my older posts

How long has it been since you were last here?
VBF had a major meltdown last year, where many users got screwed up. Many reregistered, but a few managed to get reinstated.

    Waldo,

I will see what I can do. I'm sending you a PM asking for more information. We'll try to get it straightened out ASAP.

I'm here all the time. Nearly daily. I just decided to do something about it recently. This was right about the time where the forums were melting down. Yeah, I had to reregister.

Thanks NotLKH. You've given me a great example to give to our systems people to look into. This is the first substantial example I've been provided with of the problem created by the system crash from July.

    Brad!

Did you search by keyword or by user name? I searched under both and got 2 different sets of results. Under keyword, I got all my posts (well, not all). Under my user name, I only get the ones since the "meltdown".

    Brad!
    Glad to have Helped!

If I had to guess, i'd almost suspect his old name is muddied by a non-printing ascii char code or two.

Waldo: I sent you a PM about this (not wanting to discuss your account in a public forum).
