Yup i have Dark Basic, its a great 3D games programing language, they just released DB Pro too which is far better than basic DB and alot faster.
Its like VB or QBasic etc as a language so most epople will be at home with it but it has ALOT of extra commands to make 3D programing a breese.
E.G>
Make Matrix 1,100,100,25,25
Make Object Cube 1,10,10
Make Object Sphear 2,20
Will make a 3d Terrain 100X100 in size and divided into 25x25 squares
make a 3D box on screen 10x10
make a sphear 20 units in diameter
Rotate Object 1,90
Will rotate the Cude 90 degrees
Its so easy
Go give it a try at
WWW.DarkBasic.com
You can get a free trail donwload, also check out the games section that people have made to see what its caperble of.

can you nativly load up 3d studio max files, or do they need be converted to something? Got some links to some quick down a dirty tips on this subject. Ive been wanting to buy DarkBasic, but the few things I read about coding it confused me a little.

DarkBasic can use 3DS files or .X files if your useing any other kind of file format for the 3D modles you will need to chage the format

the new pro version can load mdls and md3's and some others as well.
although it is painfully simple to use, it does have some drawbacks when it comes to power (not even a split() type function)
The interface is bad (but is a lot better in Pro).

Some drawbacks I've found about DB (you can't do any of this that I've found):
1. Can't control windowed/full screen mode
2. Can't give your program a custom icon
If you can do these let me know

there was a update released that lets you switch to windowed. To cvhange the icon you need to find a icon changer program, i used to have one, but i lost it last time i reformatted my HD.
