Graphics etc

Now that i know most of the basics and i can do a lot of stuff, i was thinking of now learning how to draw images and make them move.

First off, what are some good ways of making a character (guy) or some programs that i can use to create a picture.

second, i want to click the right buitton on the mouse and make the guy move there.

you can build charachters using any of the Professional Graghic Applications like :3D MAX , Hollywood , Xirax(not sure of spelling) and more more .
anyways, if you want to move your characters smoothly (without screen flickering) , then you must work with DX .After you're done ,You will be astonished how did you do that ?
