    vb 6.0 to vb.net

i am vb 6.0 developer. right now i am assigned to develop a project in my company. i want to develop the project using vb.net. i familiar with oops concepts but don't know anything about vb.net.

can any suggest me should i develop in vb.net or not, and the difficulties i may face, what guidelines should i consider, everything that a vb 6.o developer should consider while starting a new project in vb.net.

the project is client/server based with sql server as RDBMS.

    thanx in advance

If you've never worked with VB.NET before I wouldn't advise you to start a live project directly. May be you could familiarise with VB.NET first, work on a few less important projects and then get on to the new project. In fact you could start by re-writing an existing VB6 project in VB.NET from scratch.
