Unhappy Win 98 crashes after Properties -> Settings

Please help! I can't change my screen resolution. Every time I right click on my desktop and go to properties -> Settings tab, windows crashes, all I see is a black screen with the flashing underscore. All other tabs work, just the settings tab(the one where you set your resolution and colour). Why is this happening, any ideas?

    Thanks.

I'de bet you have an Nvidia chipset...

    Hi M8.

Sounds very much like your graphics drivers are corrupt. What gfx card do you have? I'de highly recommend an update from your gfx manufacture's website.

    Regards,

    Paul.

Hi. Yes, you are right, it was the drivers. Except it were the new ones that very messed up, I just went back to an archive and downloaded an older version. I have the Nvidia GeForce.

    Hmm... I wonder...

It sounds as if you download the same set i did ! It crashed both my 2k server and my XP main system. I have already informed them on the hex address it's failing on.

The newest one so far is v41.09. I am now using this one on both systems, and it's fine.

Nvidia rarely release faulty drivers, so please don't let his put you off Nvidia & the geforce range.

    Glad it's working.

    Regards,

    Paul.
