my desktop disappeared
Okay, actually, this is my friend's computer. It's at school, which means it has "Full Armor" on it. *Note: Full Armor sucks balls. Anyways, one day, we got to class, and his desktop was gone (all the items on the desktop). It was actually on the taskbar. We can't get the actual desktop or any items back on the desktop itself. We've tried dragging and droping the items, creating shortcuts on the desktop, and nothing works. What do we do?

Here's a hunch:
Right click the desktop > Active Desktop
See if "View as web page" is checked. If it is, uncheck it.

Difficult to say... but try..
Right Click>Arrange Icons by>>Show desktop icons
It works in XP, but 2k is slightly different.
Let us know.
Regards,
Paul.

i will try unless they've fixed it already cuz i dont go back to school til the sixth.
btw...full armor is a program that blocks access to certain programs. the school uses it to restrict students from accessing certain things, which is understandable, but they need to find a better program because full armor is full of bugs and there are no patches. (ie: you'll open a .cpp file and it'll open in c and everything, but then you'll have 20 message boxes pop up that say "protected by full armor" and you have to click ok 20times before you can do anything...and it does this when you open most files, open certain programs and such...like i said..it sucks balls)

okay...i can't even right-click on the desktop. i do physically, but nothing happens...(you know what i mean). and i can't get into the desktop options unless i get an administrator to come in and remove full armor so the options become accessible. and who knows, it might not even work then.
btw: the computer isn't connected to the internet, so it could only be a home-made virus brought to school...if it was a virus.
