Hear modem sound through ear phone

I have an US Robotics Sportster 56k Voice Modem. I want to hear the sound that comes out of it through my ear phone. ie... connect my ear phone to the modem successfully. There is a plug in my modem, but when I insert my ear phone into it, no sound comes out

Why not? It is a pretty good song I think! Very catchy tune.

In all seriousness. You need to make sure the modem is connected to the sound card. There is usually a cable you can use that connects the modem to the sounds card internally.

You mean, I can't connect it to my speakers directly???
The plug hole that I was talking about has a similar picture as Windows Volume Control
