If you post the project, I'll give it a try

Thanks for the offer, but I've got 2 PCs here with VB.
The problem I have is that the "Make <Project>" is disabled for everything

OK,

The offer is still there if you really get to your wits end.

I've just had a random click arount with the project settings but can't create the same problem.

Have you tried re-installing VB?

I'd love to know the resolution to this one, just in case I ever I hit the same problem.

Yes, it's one of those worrying and time consuming sort of problems that pop up every now and again.

This was a particularly strange problem, particularly as you say it was happening on two machines.

It was only my machine - if bad moved to worse, I could've compiled on the other machine.
Can't lay blame on Microsoft though, no software is ever perfect.

Sorry,

Misinterpreted your post when you said that you had two machines there.

Wrongly assumed that you had tried on the other PC and had the same prob.

Don't waste time reinstalling. This happens to me all the time, I just don't know why.

What you need to do is right-click on the toolbar, and click Customize. Then drop down the File menu, drag off the Make item. Then find it in the Customize box and drag it back on to the menu. It should now be enabled.

Laugh, and the world laughs with you. Cry, and you just water down your vodka.

Re: Compile disabled

I just had this problem as well. Lost my View Locals, View Immediate, etc.. and lost my save button on the standard toolbar. Quite scary on a monday morning.

I fixed it in a similar fashion, but instead of removing "make" I just went to "customize..." then highlighted the "Menu Bar" toolbar option and clicked "Reset..." and then my standard bar was missing some stuff so I did the reset for all the toolbars that I had checked.

Back to normal now

Re: Compile disabled

You learn something new every day. I had lost Add ... User Control from my Project window context menu. Customize/Shortcut Menus is the way to get it back.
The most difficult part of developing a program is understanding the problem.
The second most difficult part is deciding how you're going to solve the problem.
Actually writing the program (translating your solution into some computer language) is the easiest part.

Please indent your code and use tags around it to make it easier to read.

Or go to View->Toolbars->Customize and reset your toolbars...
