Also (sorry this isn't an answer to your question SjR), how can you specify the width of the seperator in a toolbar?

OK , this isn't a problem at all . Try to resize the page of an IE , then you will get the same result as with your toolbar. So no worries .

IE as in Internet Explorer?
Doesn't do that for me??
or have I missed the point?
Oh yeah, I would also like to know how to set the width of a separator if anyone knows

Cool, thanks for the link!
I noticed that the toolbar control was in the VB(5/6) section and not .NET - hopefully it will be compatible (I will try it out)
Bit rubbish that you cannot set the width property of individual buttons - you would think that would be a standard request!! Almost as crap as the menu control that cannot have an associated imagelist - although at least I know how to get round that one...
Ah well........
