You can download free firewall's which offer some protection from hacking if you want to prevent this. I think you can get ZoneAlarm from CNet.com ...

Kazaa is faster than download.com, so I would say get it from kazaa 
If you install ZoneAlarm, I think you have to make sure that your setting isnt set to the highest protection (I think). Because I remember having some problems with IIS when zonealarm was running, so I had to mess with the setting. This was a long time ago, and I had the old ZA, dunno how it is now....

well to be honest I don't know anything about it - I know one of my mates picked it up last year sometime & just suggested it 'cause it's free & it's one that I'd heard of. Dunno what the alternatives are at the moment or what's the best one to have?
