I'm still confused.... Nvidia.com has some drivers too, which worked for me. What's the Detonator drivers then

They're the better drivers, they allow you to get more out of your graphics card.

The ones that you get at nVidia are called REFERENCE DRIVERS. nVidia calls these DETONATOR DRIVERS. Thus the confusion... The reason in the first place is that you can get 'specialised' drivers from the specific company that made it (ex. ASUS), but they usually offer piss-poor performance compared to the reference ones.
Hope I cleared it up
