I was planning to do something simmilar with some friends in the future... Wanted to make a linux-windows hybryd... but the project would just be to huge to keep up with Windows and Linux...
Anyways, I Support You! - there i said it!
I wouldnt mind a server OS more secure than windows , that has a fraction of the boot time, and includes a great browser! Who wouldn't?

Update
Hi all,
First of all, I would like to thank carp for moving the thread here, it has saved me some time.
Basically i've been having a problem with getting my new ADSL line installed and so am limited in where I can access the net for the minute.
I would also like to welcome NewHelp4Me,to the project please can they email me at
[email protected]
also the friends you said about, would they be interested and if so could you get them to contact me please!
I tried to upload the files yesterday and got an Access Denied error which I hope to have sorted today!
I plan to put the ASM source online along with precompiled binaries for the Intel Platform! I am currently using a schools network where FTP has been blocked so I am going to bypass the Proxy and install AceFTP with passive FTP enabled the minute the SysAdmin walks out
I would also like to hear your opinions on whether I should keep it 16-bit Real Mode or move it to 32-bit Protected Mode???
I will also try to get a mailing list set up somewhere!!!

I would appreciate it if you would sign up to the boards at http://caos.suddenlaunch.com, this way I can set up seperate forums for each aspect of the project!

THREAD CLOSED
I now have a forum up and running at the following address,
caos.suddenlaunch.com
I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF EVERYONE HERE WOULD SIGN UP AND EMAIL ME THEIR LOGIN NAME SO I CAN GIVE THEM ACCESS TO THE HIDDEN BOARDS!!!
[email protected]
This move is to enable me to create a forum for each seperate area of the project rather than try and keep track of who is doing what here!!!
I will just copy and paste the kernel source into a thread there for now as I still haven't heard about the FTP access!
Sorry for the inconvience!
CARP, please check your email,
