Building PC- Help with choosing components
I have been promoting a rock band for the past three years. They have now decided that they can afford a PC build that will be dedicated to promotion.
· Build a web page containing images and mp3 clips and video clips
· Email facility
· Copy Master CD which has been recorded/produced in a professional studio
· Produce High Quality CD labels and covers for CD Case
· Produce Promotional leaflets and High Quality Press Pack
· Keep records of contacts and gigs
· Track Finances
So I will need:
· Monitor
· Keyboard
· Mouse
· Speakers
· Tower
· Printer
· Motherboard
· CPU/Fan
· Ram
· Hard drive
· CD Writer
· Floppy Drive
· Graphics Card * for displaying high quality professional photos and Video
· Sound Card
· Modem
Have I forgotten anything? How do I decide which components to get? I have £700 to spend on this project and want to ensure that I buy the best I can afford That will do The job it is required?
Where do i start?
(I already own all the software that I need to do these jobs so they will not have to come out of the budget)

If you're going to produce high quality print work from the pc, you're going to need a colour laser printer, and they aren't cheap.
You could have a look here for components:

If you can't dish out the money for those colour laser printers, try the Epson Stylus Colour C80. Slow, but no other printer beats the quality of this baby!
700 quid is about $1800-1900 Canadian... Try going to NCIX.com, and choosing PC builder. You can select the base model that you want and choose all of the extras and stuff to fit your needs. If I'm right and you're located in the UK, you'll need to find a different store to get everything from, but the quote still helps.

Yeah maybe, but I'm just saying get a price range for your products there (its a nice online builder) and then get them locally.

Looking for a system...
If you're looking a PC, built to your requirements, please feel free to give me a call, and i'll gladly guide you through it.
From the previous message, you wouldn't really need to spend an awful lot, although the GFX card & printer are going to be the biggest items.
Shouldn't worry too much about the monitor spec, you'de be better spending the money on something that really matters. Most monitors will do 0.27dp, which is ample for the low/medium user.
I will only buy Gigabyte motherboards, purely because they are stable, superb quality and come with important features like Anti-Burn which stops the motherboard from failing if a faulty/none compliant item is inserted.
It's quite difficult to guide you through without actually knowing exactly your requirements. If you have already been quoted for a system, make sure it fits your needs, as many package deals will be supplied with cheaper, low quality goods.
Hope this helps you.
Regards,
Paul.
